| WHAT OTHERS SAY | He made me tougher. He taught me how to prepare better mentally before games; how to always stay in control. He taught me smart-aggressive. Most importantly, he taught me how to continuously raise the bar on my expectations of myself and my performance. No doubt, I’m a better player because of our work. Doug Weight Using the mental toughness tools I learned in my training with Chris has improved my performance and confidence tremendously. I have used these tools for two years now – most recently in this year’s Super Bowl. Not a game goes by in which I don’t practice these techniques. They give me improvements I can see and measure, and confidence I can feel. Jason Kyle Chris Dorris is one of those rare individuals who can capture the attention of corporate leaders and cause growth and change among them. Chris has worked with my 75 CEO clients, their direct reports and employees in numerous settings to expand their thinking and improve performance results. Jim Myers Chris has a unique ability to help unlock the full potential of individuals, both in sports and in business. I have had the opportunity to work with Chris both personally, with my son as a competitive junior golfer, and in a business environment, with our sales and product marketing organizations at Insight. I believe that Chris has the unique ability to make a significant impact on individual and team performance, challenging and enabling an individual to truly pursue their ultimate potential as a top performer. I would highly recommend Chris in any environment where there is a true pursuit of excellence and winning, whether that's in sports or in business, with either seasoned executives or developing sales professionals. Chris can help strengthen both individual and organizational mental toughness, which is critical ingredient for success. He can also implement the disciplines required to institutionalize this within a team or organization. I
enjoy the opportunity to continue my relationship with Chris, as both
a personal and organizational development opportunity. Chris, I wanted to provide you with some feedback on your involvement in our recent team building retreat. Our primary goal was to improve upon the effectiveness of our team in accomplishing our business objectives. Some of our specific objectives included improving interpersonal communications and cooperation among team members in the conduct of our business. We were looking to you to be an effective facilitator of our retreat and specifically address our goals and objectives. You clearly succeeded in meeting and, in many cases, exceeding our expectations. The activities that you led were very effective in addressing our needs. I was particularly impressed with both the content and tools that were utilized to improve upon our communication skills. The exercises were engaging and fit well with the content of your discussions. Your “lasering” techniques were extremely effective and should have a lasting effect on our team. I also wanted you to know that we were very pleased with your effectiveness in leading and facilitating the meeting. Your presentation and facilitation skills were clearly important to the overall effectiveness of our retreat. Thank you and I look forward to working with you in the future! Chic
Dohoney Chris, The week immediately after the event gave me to opportunity to practice one of your exercises. I received an inappropriate and insulting email from a recently fired ex-employee just after returning from your presentation. My initial (and normal) response was to begin to get angry and move towards responding to that situation out of anger. I caught myself and tried your method of changing my thinking. Instead of reacting, I DECIDED to think about this email as proof that I had made the right decision in letting her go. The more I thought through that aspect, the better I felt and after really focusing on that for a few moments, I became convinced of my brilliance as a leader and was ready to do the end zone dance. Then with that attitude, I continued with my various responsibilities of the day and of course, performed significantly better with confidence than I would have with anger - what a difference! What a wonderful gift to be empowered to decide what you will think
and how you will feel, thereby positively impacting performance. Thank
you so much. I first met Chris about a year ago. He was the guest speaker at one of my monthly CEO Forum Meetings. Chris talked about a number of issues including controlling your thoughts, imaging and routines. His presentation totally impressed me and our group of 20 CEO’s. Within days, I hired him to work with me and my staff of Business Development Officers to teach us more about effectively dealing with critical business and personal processes. I was amazed with Chris’ ability to quickly pinpoint the issues that easily compromise successful outcomes. He is particularly talented at identifying your individual comfort zones and giving you the tools to expand them. Within four months of working with Chris, more new accounts were opened at my firm than in any previous one year period in the history of the company. Peak performance does not have to be a once in a while event, but an everyday habit, which Chris has absolutely helped us achieve. Should you have the opportunity and pleasure of working with Chris, take it. You’ll be glad you did. James H. O’Connor |
